County Fair 2018 Update

County Fair 2018 Update

This year I only entered three things in our county fair open class. It’s much fewer than usual, but my summer has been much busier than usual.

My pink and brown Blackberry Salad afghan got a blue ribbon in the Crocheted Afghans category.

My Zig Zag Zoom knitted garter stitch baby blanket got a blue ribbon in the Knitted Baby Blankets category.

As far as fair festivities go, I didn’t even make it up to see the projects. My friends and I went up one night after gate admission was free (but the exhibits were closed) to have some drinks and try some fair food.

I’m already started on next year’s projects. I am going to try new challenging things with the intent of bringing them to the fair instead of just gathering projects last minute. I am making a doily and am planning on knitted cabled gloves, a tatted doily, a Hardanger ornament, and a crazy quilt. I think it will be fun to make some frivolous projects and try new categories for a change. Maybe I’ll even give the state fair a try.

  • Congratulations! I love your color choices and I’m always amazed at how much you do get done. It takes me a week to do a washcloth. I have no idea why I’m so slow! LOL

    • Thanks, Rebecca! Remember these projects have all been done in the last year… Not the last week! I’m just catching up on blogging about them.

  • I love this blog. Not sure how you find the time with all the crafts you do. Each one is unique and so nicely done.

    • You’re so kind, Lydia! To be fair, this is a stack I’ve completed all year- I don’t finish this many projects this quickly. 🙂
