How to Calculate Yards of Worsted Weight Wool Yarn in Finished Project by Weight
I had so much fun making the calculator for worsted weight acrylic yarn that I wanted to make one for all of the weights and contents of yarn that I typically use.
I love to make thermal knit vests that use worsted weight wool. This calculator can tell me how much a certain vest makes. Likewise, if I find another great charity knitting project that calls for wool, I can figure out if I have enough scraps to make the new project.
If you have a favorite yarn like Wool of the Andes, I Love This Wool, or Cascade 220, this calculator will tell you exactly how many yards are used or how many yards you need. If you are a scrap fiend like me, it will give you an average across brands.
Here is an affiliate link to the scale that I use. The price seems to have gone up quite a bit in the five years since I purchased it. Anything that measures in grams will do.
